Forecast reports for each Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) are for the period 2009-2015. Each report contains expected figures for visitors by origin and visitor nights.
Total visits by travellers to Auckland RTO are forecast to rise from 12.50m in 2008 to 13.66m in 2015 - an increase of 9.3% (1.16m) or 1.3% p.a.
International visits are expected to increase from 255,900 in 2008 to 297,500 in 2015, representing growth of 41,600 or 16.2%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 7.3% to 8.1%.
Total visits by travellers to Coromandel RTO are forecast to rise from 2.78m in 2008 to 2.93m in 2015 - an increase of 5.4% (149,900) or 0.8% p.a.
Domestic visits are expected to increase from 770,200 in 2008 to 795,900 in 2015, representing growth of 25,700 or 3.3%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 90.7% to 89.6%.
Domestic visits are expected to increase from 2.02m in 2008 to 2.07m in 2015, representing growth of 51,600 or 2.6%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 88.0% to 86.7%.
Total visits by travellers to Kapiti-Horowhenua RTO are forecast to rise from 2.16m in 2008 to 2.25m in 2015 - an increase of 3.8% (82,200) or 0.5% p.a.
International visits are expected to increase from 487,300 in 2008 to 561,000 in 2015, representing growth of 73,700 or 15.1%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 16.4% to 18.0%.
International visits are expected to increase from 126,500 in 2008 to 147,600 in 2015, representing growth of 21,100 or 16.7%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 4.1% to 4.7%.
Total visits by travellers to Northland RTO are forecast to rise from 4.92m in 2008 to 5.23m in 2015 - an increase of 6.4% (312,500) or 0.9% p.a.
Total visits by travellers to Rotorua RTO are forecast to rise from 3.04m in 2008 to 3.31m in 2015 - an increase of 9.0% (272,100) or 1.2% p.a.
Domestic visits are expected to increase from 726,400 in 2008 to 745,600 in 2015, representing growth of 19,200 or 2.6%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 83.8% to 82.1%.
International visits are expected to increase from 113,500 in 2008 to 132,900 in 2015, representing growth of 19,400 or 17.0%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 6.8% to 7.7%.
Total visits by travellers to Waikato RTO are forecast to rise from 7.91m in 2008 to 8.45m in 2015 - an increase of 6.9% (542,200) or 1.0% p.a.
International visits are expected to increase from 65,100 in 2008 to 75,700 in 2015, representing growth of 10,600 or 16.3%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 5.0% to 5.6%.
Total visits by travellers to Wanganui RTO are forecast to rise from 773,900 in 2008 to 799,200 in 2015 - an increase of 3.3% (25,300) or 0.5% p.a.
International visits are expected to increase from 744,200 in 2008 to 864,300 in 2015, representing growth of 120,100 or 16.1%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 18.3% to 20.0%.
