Total Visits
- Total visits by travellers to Northland RTO are forecast to rise from 4.92m in 2008 to 5.23m in 2015 - an increase of 6.4% (312,500) or 0.9% p.a.
- International visits are expected to increase from 801,400 in 2008 to 925,600 in 2015, representing growth of 124,200 or 15.5%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 16.3% to 17.7%.
- Domestic visits are expected to increase from 4.12m in 2008 to 4.31m in 2015, representing growth of 188,300 or 4.6%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 83.7% to 82.3%.
Total Visitor Nights
- Total visitor nights in Northland RTO are forecast to rise from 5.34m in 2008 to 5.63m in 2015 - an increase of 5.4% (290,800) or 0.8% p.a.
- International visitor nights are expected to increase from 1.75m in 2008 to 1.99m in 2015, representing growth of 234,100 or 13.4%. The share of total visitor nights generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 32.8% to 35.3%.
- Domestic visitor nights are expected to increase from 3.59m in 2008 to 3.65m in 2015, representing growth of 56,700 or 1.6%. The share of total visitor nights generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 67.2% to 64.7%.
