Total Visits
- Total visits by travellers to Ruapehu RTO are forecast to rise from 866,800 in 2008 to 908,100 in 2015 - an increase of 4.8% (41,300) or 0.7% p.a.
- International visits are expected to increase from 140,400 in 2008 to 162,500 in 2015, representing growth of 22,100 or 15.7%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 16.2% to 17.9%.
- Domestic visits are expected to increase from 726,400 in 2008 to 745,600 in 2015, representing growth of 19,200 or 2.6%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 83.8% to 82.1%.
Total Visitor Nights
- Total visitor nights in Ruapehu RTO are forecast to rise from 888,100 in 2008 to 934,100 in 2015 - an increase of 5.2% (46,000) or 0.7% p.a.
- International visitor nights are expected to increase from 227,800 in 2008 to 260,600 in 2015, representing growth of 32,800 or 14.4%. The share of total visitor nights generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 25.7% to 27.9%.
- Domestic visitor nights are expected to increase from 660,300 in 2008 to 673,500 in 2015, representing growth of 13,200 or 2.0%. The share of total visitor nights generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 74.3% to 72.1%.
