Total Visits
- Total visits by travellers to Taranaki RTO are forecast to rise from 1.67m in 2008 to 1.72m in 2015 - an increase of 3.0% (50,300) or 0.4% p.a.
- International visits are expected to increase from 113,500 in 2008 to 132,900 in 2015, representing growth of 19,400 or 17.0%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 6.8% to 7.7%.
- Domestic visits are expected to increase from 1.56m in 2008 to 1.59m in 2015, representing growth of 30,900 or 2.0%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 93.2% to 92.3%.
Total Visitor Nights
- Total visitor nights in Taranaki RTO are forecast to rise from 1.95m in 2008 to 2.07m in 2015 - an increase of 6.4% (125,200) or 0.9% p.a.
- International visitor nights are expected to increase from 612,400 in 2008 to 698,900 in 2015, representing growth of 86,500 or 14.1%. The share of total visitor nights generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 31.4% to 33.7%.
