Total visits by travellers to Wellington RTO are forecast to rise from 4.07m in 2008 to 4.33m in 2015 - an increase of 6.5% (262,500) or 0.9% p.a.
International visits are expected to increase from 744,200 in 2008 to 864,300 in 2015, representing growth of 120,100 or 16.1%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 18.3% to 20.0%.
Domestic visits are expected to increase from 3.32m in 2008 to 3.47m in 2015, representing growth of 142,400 or 4.3%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 81.7% to 80.0%.

Total visitor nights in Wellington RTO are forecast to rise from 7.74m in 2008 to 8.47m in 2015 - an increase of 9.5% (736,800) or 1.3% p.a.
International visitor nights are expected to increase from 3.99m in 2008 to 4.56m in 2015, representing growth of 575,000 or 14.4%. The share of total visitor nights generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 51.6% to 53.9%.
Domestic visitor nights are expected to increase from 3.75m in 2008 to 3.91m in 2015, representing growth of 161,800 or 4.3%. The share of total visitor nights generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 48.4% to 46.1%.
