Total Visits
- Total visits by travellers to Manawatu RTO are forecast to rise from 3.06m in 2008 to 3.16m in 2015 - an increase of 3.3% (102,100) or 0.5% p.a.
- International visits are expected to increase from 126,500 in 2008 to 147,600 in 2015, representing growth of 21,100 or 16.7%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 4.1% to 4.7%.
- Domestic visits are expected to increase from 2.94m in 2008 to 3.02m in 2015, representing growth of 81,000 or 2.8%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 95.9% to 95.3%.
Total Visitor Nights
- Total visitor nights in Manawatu RTO are forecast to rise from 2.27m in 2008 to 2.44m in 2015 - an increase of 7.5% (170,700) or 1.0% p.a.
- International visitor nights are expected to increase from 749,400 in 2008 to 865,900 in 2015, representing growth of 116,500 or 15.5%. The share of total visitor nights generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 33.0% to 35.4%.
- Domestic visitor nights are expected to increase from 1.52m in 2008 to 1.58m in 2015, representing growth of 54,200 or 3.6%. The share of total visitor nights generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 67.0% to 64.6%.
