Forecast reports for each Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) are for the period 2009-2015. Each report contains expected figures for visitors by origin and visitor nights.
Total visits by travellers to Canterbury RTO are forecast to rise from 11.27m in 2008 to 12.11m in 2015 - an increase of 7.4% (833,100) or 1.0% p.a.
Total visits by travellers to Central Otago RTO are forecast to rise from 786,000 in 2008 to 815,900 in 2015 - an increase of 3.8% (29,900) or 0.5% p.a.
Total visits by travellers to Central South Island RTO are forecast to rise from 1.28m in 2008 to 1.35m in 2015 - an increase of 5.9% (75,500) or 0.8% p.a.
Total visits by travellers to Dunedin RTO are forecast to rise from 1.72m in 2008 to 1.83m in 2015 - an increase of 6.3% (108,800) or 0.9% p.a.
Total visits by travellers to Fiordland RTO are forecast to rise from 1.06m in 2008 to 1.18m in 2015 - an increase of 10.9% (115,800) or 1.5% p.a.
International visits are expected to increase from 128,200 in 2008 to 150,700 in 2015, representing growth of 22,500 or 17.6%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 13.2% to 14.6%.
International visits are expected to increase from 289,400 in 2008 to 334,600 in 2015, representing growth of 45,200 or 15.6%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 40.5% to 43.5%.
International visits are expected to increase from 444,100 in 2008 to 510,000 in 2015, representing growth of 65,900 or 14.8%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 50.2% to 52.8%.
