Total Visits
- Total visits by travellers to Dunedin RTO are forecast to rise from 1.72m in 2008 to 1.83m in 2015 - an increase of 6.3% (108,800) or 0.9% p.a.
- International visits are expected to increase from 410,600 in 2008 to 478,700 in 2015, representing growth of 68,100 or 16.6%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 23.9% to 26.2%.
- Domestic visits are expected to increase from 1.31m in 2008 to 1.35m in 2015, representing growth of 40,700 or 3.1%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 76.1% to 73.8%.
Total Visitor Nights
- Total visitor nights in Dunedin RTO are forecast to rise from 2.63m in 2008 to 2.85m in 2015 - an increase of 8.2% (216,100) or 1.1% p.a.
- International visitor nights are expected to increase from 1.26m in 2008 to 1.42m in 2015, representing growth of 166,400 or 13.3%. The share of total visitor nights generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 47.7% to 49.9%.
- Domestic visitor nights are expected to increase from 1.38m in 2008 to 1.43m in 2015, representing growth of 49,700 or 3.6%. The share of total visitor nights generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 52.3% to 50.1%.
