Total Visits
- Total visits by travellers to Fiordland RTO are forecast to rise from 1.06m in 2008 to 1.18m in 2015 - an increase of 10.9% (115,800) or 1.5% p.a.
- International visits are expected to increase from 765,200 in 2008 to 880,200 in 2015, representing growth of 115,000 or 15.0%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 72.0% to 74.7%.
- Domestic visits are expected to increase from 297,200 in 2008 to 298,000 in 2015, representing growth of 800 or 0.3%. The share of total visits generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 28.0% to 25.3%.
Total Visitor Nights
- Total visitor nights in Fiordland RTO are forecast to rise from 908,400 in 2008 to 998,700 in 2015 - an increase of 9.9% (90,300) or 1.4% p.a.
- International visitor nights are expected to increase from 619,900 in 2008 to 704,900 in 2015, representing growth of 85,000 or 13.7%. The share of total visitor nights generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 68.2% to 70.6%.
- Domestic visitor nights are expected to increase from 288,500 in 2008 to 293,800 in 2015, representing growth of 5,300 or 1.8%. The share of total visitor nights generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 31.8% to 29.4%.
