Overnight Trips - For the year ended March 2010, domestic tourists undertook 16.7 million overnight trips and spent 48.8 million nights away from home (on average of 2.9 nights per trip).

Day Trips - Domestic tourists undertook 29.6 million day trips for the year ended March 2010.

Expenditure - Overall, domestic tourists spent $8.72 billion for the year ended March 2010. This comprised of $5.75 billion spent on overnight trips and $2.97 billion on day trips.
