DTS Data Releases Delayed Until Further Notice

The next release of Domestic Travel Survey (DTS) data will not be until further notice.
In September 2008, the Ministry introduced a new questionnaire and processing system for the DTS. These improvements have resulted in better quality data and reduced burden on respondents.
Since these changes were implemented the Ministry has analysed the impact of the new DTS data and the first two quarters show a significant difference from previous quarters.
Given this, a full year of data is required from the new system before the DTS can be released and this will likely result in a break from previously published data. If appropriate, the Ministry will revise the earlier time series to provide consistent data over time.
