Each year the Ministry, with wide industry input, revises the forecasts for a seven-year projection period. The most recent forecasts cover the period to 2015.

- Forecast 1 - Inbound Tourism
Contains forecasts of international visitor arrivals - by origin/market and purpose. Also includes visitor nights, length of stay and visitor expenditure (by total world market).
- Forecast 2 - Outbound Tourism
Contains forecasts of overseas trips by NZ residents to key destinations.
- Forecast 3 - Domestic Tourism
Contains forecasts of domestic travel at the national level - by day trip, overnight trip, visitor nights and purpose.
