This document summarises the methodology used in the 2008 international tourism forecasting programme for the Ministry of Tourism.
This section contains previously published National Tourism Forecasts for the period to 2013.
Full forecast reports for each of New Zealand's 30 tourism regions are available.
The expenditure forecasts have been presented as a supplement this year because the expenditure data was not available at the time the arrival forecasts were produced. The late release of the expenditure data is a one-off event caused by the Ministry of Tourism’s ongoing commitment to improving the core tourism dataset.
Each year the Ministry, with wide industry input, revises the forecasts for a seven-year projection period for this year covering the period out to 2014.

visitor arrivals to New Zealand for 2007.

This page provides archived tables and charts for the 2007 - 2013 forecast period. This allows the user to view international and domestic data, both historically and forecasts, at the RTO level.
