Total visits by travellers to Wellington RTO are forecast to rise from 3.93m in 2007 to 4.32m in 2014 - an increase of 10.0% (391,200) or 1.4% p.a.
International visits are expected to increase from 777,200 in 2007 to 992,300 in 2014, representing growth of 215,100 or 27.7%. The share of total visits generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 19.8% to 23.0%.
Domestic visits are expected to increase from 3.15m in 2007 to 3.33m in 2014, representing growth of 176,100 or 5.6%. The share of total visits generated by
domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 80.2% to 77.0%.

Total visitor nights in Wellington RTO are forecast to rise from 7.77m in 2007 to 9.11m in 2014 - an increase of 17.4% (1.35m) or 2.3% p.a.
International visitor nights are expected to increase from 4.26m in 2007 to 5.45m in 2014, representing growth of 1.19m or 28.0%. The share of total visitor nights generated by international visitors is expected to increase from 54.8% to 59.8%.
Domestic visitor nights are expected to increase from 3.51m in 2007 to 3.66m in 2014, representing growth of 155,100 or 4.4%. The share of total visitor nights
generated by domestic visitors is expected to decrease from 45.2% to 40.2%.
